Tajweed Journey
A Fun & Faithful Program for Parents and Youth to Master Qur’anic Recitation
Al Baseerah Academy utilizes Tajweed Gamification, a process that incorporates game-based elements and techniques to enhance engagement, interactivity, and enjoyment in learning and practicing Tajweed (Qur’anic pronunciation rules), particularly among children and young people.
Goals of Tajweed Gamification
- Reinforce proper pronunciation rules (e.g., Ikhfa, Idgham, Qalqala)
- Encourage consistent practice
- Reward mastery and progress
- Make learning collaborative or competitive in a healthy way
Examples of Tajweed Gamification Tools & Activities

- Each square has a rule or a word that represents a rule (e.g., “Ikhfa after Noon Saakin”).
- The teacher calls out examples, and students cover the correct rule.
Rule Matching Games
- Match rule names to their definitions or audio samples (digital or printed cards).
- Example: Match “Idghaam” with a clip of “من يعمل”.
Digital Quiz Apps
- Platforms like Kahoot, Quizizz, or Wordwall can host Tajweed quizzes.
- Add points, timers, and a leaderboard to boost excitement.
Tajweed Memory Game
- Turn cards face down; match terms like “Ghunnah” to its symbol or sound.
Badge/Level System
- Award digital or physical badges for mastering specific rules.
- Levels could be: Beginner → Rule Master → Tajweed Champion
Pronunciation Battles
- Students take turns reciting verses with Tajweed, and their peers award stars for correct usage.
